Hello! My name is Stacey Tatum, and I am a 6th Grade Science and Social Studies teacher at Elberta Elementary School. This year marks my first year teaching 6th grade after spending several years in 3rd grade, where I developed a deep passion for understanding how students learn to read, write, think critically, and solve problems.
Throughout my career, I have dedicated myself to learning from some of the best educational research and professional development opportunities available, including eMINTS, LETRS, and Kagan Cooperative Learning. These experiences have shaped my approach to teaching and helped me create a classroom environment that is engaging, collaborative, and filled with active learning experiences.
I believe students learn best when they are actively involved, challenged to think deeply, and given opportunities to collaborate, create, and reflect. Whether through hands-on science investigations, meaningful social studies discussions, or technology-rich learning experiences, my goal is always to make learning both memorable and impactful.
I am passionate about staying current with educational research and instructional technology, but I also strongly believe that educators are one of the greatest sources of professional learning for one another. Some of the best ideas come from teachers sharing what truly works in real classrooms with real students. That is why I value opportunities like GRTIC so much.
I hope this presentation provides you with practical ideas, meaningful strategies, and inspiration that you can take back to your own classroom and share with your colleagues. Thank you for taking the time to attend my session.
