About me
Dr. Aaron Diaz has served as a bus driver, coach, teacher, assistant principal, and principal. He is passionate about improving pedagogy, teacher support, community engagement, relationshipbuilding, and strategic planning—especially through the use of Kagan Cooperative Learning. As a principal in a high-poverty, diverse community, Aaron led efforts to strengthen instruction through Kagan Cooperative Learning, deepen community and family involvement, and implement effective behavior supports. Under his leadership, the school experienced a significant reduction in discipline referrals while maintaining strong academic performance. Aaron recently earned his doctorate from the Harvard Graduate School of Education, where his work focused on improving system-level implementation of cooperative learning practices. Aaron credits his wife of many years, Tristan, as the driving force behind his success. They live in Cambridge, Massachusetts, with their dogs and enjoy traveling and sharing a good date night.
